YOUNG SHELDON FANS ARE WONDERING WHAT HAPPENED TO TAM NGUYEN
When Young Sheldon began last year, many fans were surprised to find out that Sheldon Cooper actually had a best friend when he was a kid, because he never spoke about Tam to lớn any of his adult friends on The Big Bang Theory. Well, we just found out why that is, và the reason is pure Sheldon. It turned out that Sheldon has been mad at Tam for đôi mươi years, và the latest episode revealed what happened between the childhood buddies to cause such a rift.

Not lớn be deterred, Amy heads across the hall, & asks the gathered couples if they"ve ever heard of Tam, but they haven"t either. Later, after Leonard notes lớn Howard và Raj that he figured there was nothing else to learn about Sheldon since he even knows all about his bowel movements, they place a clip call lớn Sheldon"s brother, George, to see if he knows why they had the falling out, but he"s in the dark as well.
Fortunately, George reminds the guys about Sheldon"s enemies list, and when they get off the điện thoại tư vấn Howard manages to lớn find Tam listed there (after going through a few digital hoops to lớn access the online data), but all it says for a reason is "he knows what he did." But, all was not lost, as Raj had the bright idea of just asking Tam what happened all those years ago when they find him on campus the next day.

Tam had no idea Sheldon was even mad at him, & when Sheldon confronts him, asking what happened when he moved to California, all Tam can think lớn say is, "I stayed in Texas?" Of course, this makes Sheldon walk off in a huff, without it ever occurring to him that he never made his feelings clear lớn Tam all those years ago.

Tech, he was nervous about moving away from home, especially considering how hard it is for him to khuyến mãi with people và make friends. So, he asked Tam to lớn move with him and he had accepted. The problem, though, came that summer when Tam found himself with a new girlfriend. When it was time lớn move, obviously, Tam stayed in Texas lớn keep seeing her. Seeing as how Sheldon considered their moving lớn California together to be a done deal, he was hurt, added Tam to lớn his ever-growing list of enemies & vowed khổng lồ never speak to lớn him again. When he relays this information khổng lồ Amy, she points out that Sheldon"s life might not have been as good as it is now if he had spent the past đôi mươi years only relying on Tam & never making new friends. This led to lớn Sheldon imagining what his life would have been like, which we see via a montage of well-known old scenes from the show (like when Sheldon finally fully accepted Penny và awkwardly hugged her), with Raj, Leonard & Howard removed but Tam added. Clearly, Sheldon wouldn"t have changed as much as he has over these 11 seasons without the input of his circle of friends. But, Sheldon has always been stubborn, & he tells Amy his life would have been just as cool.
The last few minutes saw Sheldon forgiving Tam for not following through on the move khổng lồ California, while Tam tells Sheldon he did nothing wrong in falling in love and wanting khổng lồ stay with his girlfriend. Tam also told him that everything clearly turned out well for Sheldon and for himself, but Sheldon (showing that stubborn streak again) refuses to admit that Tam"s life with his family in Texas is anywhere near as good as what he could have had if he"d moved with him.

So, with Tam and Sheldon finally made up, does this mean we might see more of the high school buddies communicating in Season 12? There"s no way to tell right now, but the final season of The Big Bang Theory is sure lớn be full of surprises for fans. Who knows, since all fences have been mended và Tam has surely been removed from Sheldon"s enemies list, maybe he"ll think lớn give the guy a call if (or when) he & Amy find themselves on the path to procreation. At any rate, heaven knows that Leonard would love to have another person to lớn spread best friend duties around with, even if the guy is several states away from Sheldon.

Tam Nguyen"s (Robert Wu) existence may explain why Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) took Sebastian (Steven Yeun) as his roommate before Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) in The Big Bang Theory. Debuting in the second episode of Young Sheldon season 1, titled "Rockets, Communist, and the Dewey Decimal System," Tam - a Vietnamese American boy - became Sheldon"s very first friend after meeting him in high school. Sheldon took it upon himself khổng lồ use techniques from a self-help book to finally make some friends, but lớn no avail. Meeting Tam, however, was purely coincidental, with the two immediately bonding over their shared struggles of fitting in. Despite getting separated, Tam actually significantly affected Sheldon"s life, as he was the one to introduce him lớn his non-science-related interests lượt thích comic books & role-playing games.
As shown in a flashback scene in "The Staircase Implementation" back in season 3, Sheldon"s former roommate (who was moving out of the building) cautioned Leonard to lớn "run fast, run far." While it has never been revealed what"s the cause of his falling out with Sheldon, it didn"t seem like the two had much in common. Considering Sheldon"s strict (sometimes khổng lồ the point of ridiculousness) roommate screening process, it"s curious what prompted him to lớn accept Sebastian in the first place. Tam"s introduction in the current season of The Big Bang Theory might have answered this mystery.

In the latest episode of The Big Bang Theory season 12 titled The "Tam Turbulence," the gang learned about Sheldon"s old high school best friend, whom he has never mentioned, which understandably raised some questions. Obviously this was because the character only debuted last year in Young Sheldon, but in the show Sheldon explained that he hasn"t spoken lớn him for over đôi mươi years due to lớn a falling out just before he moved lớn California. As it turns out, Tam promised lớn come with him và become his roommate, but backed out last minute after getting a girlfriend. Sheldon was so hurt by this that he even admitted to Amy that he thought he"d never get new friends after Tam. So given this, could it be that it was not a coincidence that Sheldon"s previous roommate before Leonard bore a physical resemblance khổng lồ Tam? In fact, when Tam made his debut in Young Sheldon many were convinced that he was Yeun"s character in The Big Bang Theory. However, while he was never named on screen, the former The Walking Dead star was credited as Sebastian, effectively squashing that theory.
Tam"s appearance in The Big Bang Theory also further tied Young Sheldon with its parent series. Aside from the Coopers, fans really haven"t had the chance lớn see any other person in Sheldon"s life in Texas until now.
